A Better Bedtime Ritual
Ape Apothecary was founded on the belief that humans — like all apes — are wired for rhythms, rituals, and natural healing. And yet, modern sleep solutions often ignore this, relying on quick fixes that leave you groggy or dependent.
DreamBars™ are our first step toward something better: a nootropic-infused chocolate that helps you unwind, relax, and drift off naturally. Each square blends magnesium glycinate, L-theanine, and 5-HTP — ingredients backed by science.
No pills. No melatonin. Just a sweet treat before bed.

Meet DreamBars
DreamBars are delicious, functional chocolates formulated with three key compounds that gently guide you into deep, restorative sleep.
L-Theanine
A naturally occurring amino acid found in tea leaves. It promotes relaxation without drowsiness, reduces anxiety, and enhances alpha brain waves associated with calm alertness.
Magnesium
Magnesium supports muscle relaxation, reduces stress, and helps regulate melatonin—the hormone that guides your sleep-wake cycle. Essential for deep, uninterrupted rest.
5-HTP
5-Hydroxytryptophan is a compound your body uses to produce serotonin. It helps elevate mood and promotes natural melatonin production for smoother sleep transitions.
DreamBars are melatonin-free — crafted for restful sleep without hormones or groggy wakeups.

Support your nightly DreamBar ritual with science-backed habits that enhance deep, restorative sleep.
☀️ Morning Light Exposure
Get sunlight within 30 minutes of waking to regulate your circadian rhythm. Sets the stage for easier wind-down later.
🛏️ Consistent Sleep Schedule
Go to bed and wake up at the same time daily. DreamBars are most effective alongside steady routines.
🕯 Dim Evening Lighting
Cut down screen time and switch to warm lights 1–2 hours before bed to ease into natural rest.
🧘 Evening Wind-Down
Pair DreamBars with meditation, journaling, or breathwork to shift your mind and body into calm.
❄️ Cool, Dark Room
Lower room temp, use blackout shades, and block noise. Ideal conditions for DreamBar-powered rest.
☕ Limit Late Caffeine
Avoid caffeine within 6 hours of bedtime to maximize the calming effects of magnesium and L-theanine.
💤 Smart Napping
Keep naps short and early (before 3pm) to protect your body’s sleep drive at night.
🧠 NSDR Techniques
Use Yoga Nidra or non-sleep deep rest to promote recovery. A perfect pairing with DreamBars.
DreamBars aren't a silver bullet — they’re a delicious companion to a healthy bedtime ritual. Build around them for better rest.

Meet the Team

Prabvir Singh
Prabvir has long been drawn to movement, mindfulness, and holistic living. While at UW–Madison, he led the campus breathwork and cold plunge club, and he’s been exploring plant-based therapies that support both mental and physical recovery. These days, you’ll find him rock climbing, training, or dialing in his sleep routine. After struggling with inconsistent sleep and the haze of late-night screen time, Prabvir began exploring ways to improve his nightly routine. DreamBars grew out of that personal process — something simple, enjoyable, and grounded in practices that genuinely helped him rest more deeply.

Michael Roytman
During the Coronavirus Epidemic, Michael became obsessed with fitness. He is what you call a fitness generalist, interested in pushing his body to the absolute limit in multiple disciplines, such as BJJ, rock climbing, weightlifting, and calisthenics. While on his journey of human optimization, he began experimenting with exogenous supplementation protocols similar to masterminds like Dr. Peter Attia and Dr. Andrew Huberman to enhance his training performance and channel his focus on computer programming. Sleep is a significant component of both, so Michael played with formulations to improve sleep, resulting in DreamBars! Michael is currently working on WakeBars, a formulation to help you start your day on a blast🔥 🤫.
